A laser extensometer K-100 with a scanning range of 100 mm was used to measure strain at a polymer specimen.
A tensile test was carried out at a specimen which was primarily white and somewhat transparent. Therefore, to have good contrasting markers, black stripes where painted using a mask and black serigraph color.
At the broken specimen the black stripes can clearly be seen. They followed the deformation of the specimen and are much larger than in unstrained condition. The changed color of the specimen material is also clearly shown.
