Strain Measurement at Elevated Temperatures

A Laserextensometer of the type P-50 is used for strain measurement at ceramic specimens.

The Extensometer can be applied at a vacuum furnace at elevated temperatures of up to 1300 °C or at a radiation furnace at temperatures of up to 500 °C.
An evacuated tube (type "glass") is used, to guide the laser beam as close as possible to the specimen. Thus the influences of air flow to the accuracy of the measurement is minimized.
